In order to reinforce its corporate identity, TABA formulated its strategic plans under the following headings:
. To give advice to US and Turkish business circles on commercial, economical, financial, industrial and similar aspects and prepare proposals for implementation;
. To provide communication between American and Turkish business people;
. To provide guidance to support and reinforce the corporate infrastructure of Turkish businesses, in particular SMEs, to ensure that they become more competitive, to expedite their entry into the financial and capital markets, in order to increase their cooperation with US companies;
. To conduct research to determine relevant investment projects in line with expectations of both the Turkish and U.S. sides and to create an environment of open communication;
. To take part in joint efforts with other non-governmental organizations and public authorities in order to attract investors to Turkey; to discover solutions to eliminate bottlenecks in legal and institutional areas faced by US companies investing in Turkey;
. To create platforms and generate cooperation projects which will allow, in particular, its members along with the business communities of the neighboring countries to make use of and exploit regional opportunities;
. To put in force all amendments of its By-law in line with its mission by activating all its bodies; in addition to economic and social meetings, to organize meetings, conferences, seminars, fairs and workshops about social topics and contents which will facilitate information and opinion exchange;
. To work in cooperation with other Chambers, NGOs and professional organizations to eliminate the problems encountered during application of the regulations on the protection of intellectual property rights, international arbitration, competition, standards in bookkeeping and reporting, as well as merger and break-up of companies;
. To mobilize the US-Turkey partnership with a drive to activate Turkey's membership in the EU;
. To deepen works and researches on the qualified industrial zones and free trade agreements to come up with realistic alternatives to increase the added value produced in Turkey;
. To review the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Trade and Investment Agreements and to determine the problems encountered in their application in cooperation with government authorities;
. To be in constant contact and work in harmony with the COCUSA (the Chamber of Commerce of USA) and the ECACC (the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce) in Washington; in particular, to work out common projects and activities with the AmCham members in the Balkans and Caucasus;
. To develop social and commercial consciousness between its members to reach the level of a more developed society. |
